What is a Document Layout?

The term  Document Layout is used in several places within the Docparser application and it is important to understand what we mean with this term.

In the context of Docparser, a Document Layout is one type of document which you want to parse.

For example, invoices from "Vendor A" always look the same. You might receive hundreds of invoices from Vendor A containing different data (totals, dates, line items, ...), but each invoice will have the same visual structure. All invoices of "Vendor A" are having the same document layout in Docparser.

Our customers at Docparser create anything between one and hundreds of different  Document Layouts which are then used to process thousands of documents on a regular basis.

For each document layout, a specific set parsing rules is usually created. This is not mandatory but the recommended way for the majority of use-cases.
